The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Friday secured nominations in two categories at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Annual Awards for the second consecutive year, with the winners to be announced at next month’s gala in Bangkok.
The BFF have been shortlisted for the Member Association Ruby award and the Grassroots Football Silver award, according to the AFC’s final list of nominees.
After winning the AFC President’s Recognition Award for grassroots football in the bronze category last year, Bangladesh have moved up a tier and will compete against India and Guam for the silver honour.
The nomination comes after the country reached the silver tier in February 2026.
The BFF will also seek redemption in the Member Association Ruby category after missing out on the award last year. Bangladesh will again face Laos, last year’s winner, and Guam.
The nominations underline the federation’s continued progress off the pitch. Before last year’s bronze award, the BFF’s previous major AFC recognition came in 2015, when it won the Aspiring Member Association Award.
Last year was the first time the federation had received nominations in two separate categories in the same edition. Repeating that achievement this year further highlights the BFF’s efforts to strengthen its standing in Asian football.
