Bangladesh international Farhaan Ali Wahid has been named Fulham’s Academy Player of the Year, adding another milestone to his rising football career.

The 19-year-old made his Bangladesh debut in the FIFA ASEAN Cup last month, scoring against Indonesia in front of nearly 50,000 spectators.

Fulham announced Farhaan as the 2026 winner of the Johnny Haynes Trophy on Thursday night. Introduced in 2019, the award honours the club legend and recognises an academy graduate, with the winner decided by votes from players and coaching staff.

Expressing his delight, Farhaan said receiving votes from his teammates made the achievement particularly special, crediting them for inspiring him and helping him improve.

Reflecting on his international debut, he described representing Bangladesh as an incredibly proud moment for himself and his family.

Farhaan made 21 Premier League 2 appearances for Fulham’s Under-21 side last season, contributing to 17 goals and helping the team finish fourth. He also won the league’s Player of the Month award in November.

He later joined National League South club Boreham Wood on loan, making four appearances so far.

Born in England, Farhaan has family roots in Sylhet. After beginning his football education at Chelsea’s academy, he joined Fulham in 2019. Although eligible to represent England, he chose Bangladesh, making his international debut last month.
