Cavan Sullivan, the 16-year-old American wonderkid, has once again grabbed the spotlight after producing a unique record of scoring and assisting in four consecutive Major League Soccer (MLS) matches for Philadelphia Union. As the highly rated attacking midfielder continues to attract international attention with his impressive form, his family’s deep connection with Bangladesh has once again come to the fore.

During an interview with the media, Sullivan was asked about the overwhelming love and support he has received from Bangladeshi fans. The rising star, who has Bangladeshi roots through his family, spoke openly about the affection.

Asked about the love he receives from Bangladeshi fans both online and in the stands, Cavan said, “It’s not just something I’ve been receiving recently; I’ve been getting it for quite some time. As I’ve said before, as a family, we love Bangladesh very much. We always remember the love we have received from the people there with gratitude.”

Cavan’s twin brothers, Ronan Sullivan and Declan Sullivan, represented the Bangladesh U-20 national team and helped them win the age-group SAFF Championship. Bangladesh lifted the historic trophy after Ronan scored a Panenka penalty in the shootout against India in the final, with the two brothers playing key roles in the triumph.

Speaking about his brothers’ memorable success and their return to Bangladesh, Cavan said, “It’s really great when my brothers go there. Hopefully, they can go back again, play a few matches and win another tournament.”

Proud of his brothers’ journey after helping Bangladesh win the title, Cavan added, “We’re really proud of everything they’re doing.”

Beyond his own family connection, the future star of American football also keeps track of Bangladesh’s junior teams. Wishing the Bangladesh U-20 side well, he said, “I know the Bangladesh U-20 team is playing in a tournament right now. I wish them the best of luck.”

Cavan’s two brothers, however, could not personally take part in the ongoing age-group tournament. They reportedly were unable to obtain leave from their university.
