Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury is reportedly close to returning to Sheffield United on a permanent deal, according to English media reports.
The 28-year-old is currently with Leicester City, who have suffered successive relegations and will play in League One this season. Hamza was reportedly heading to Championship rivals Derby County before Sheffield United intervened to sign him on a free transfer.
Hamza previously spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Sheffield United, helping the Blades reach the Championship playoff final.
The club reportedly moved for Hamza after right-back Femi Seriki suffered an injury, with the Bangladesh international having played at right-back during his previous spell.
Hamza is undergoing a medical before completing the formalities. If all goes smoothly, he could feature against Bolton on Tuesday, just hours before the transfer deadline.
