Government eyes Mbappe for PM Gold Cup finale

The government is planning to invite France superstar Kylian Mbappe to Dhaka for the closing ceremony of the Prime Minister's Gold Cup as part of a wider initiative to inspire a football revolution across Bangladesh.

The announcement came on Monday after a Steering Committee meeting chaired by Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon. Local Government State Minister Mir Shahe Alam also urged every educational institution to form a football team, warning that MPO benefits could be suspended for institutions that fail to do so.

The Youth and Sports State Minister Aminul Haque was also present there.
