Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das is doubtful for the opening One Day International against Zimbabwe after failing to recover in time to travel with the squad, Daily Sun has learned.
The ODI squad, led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, left for Harare on Sunday without the experienced right-hander.
Sources familiar with the matter said that Litton underwent a scan on Saturday, after which doctors advised him to take a few more days to complete his recovery before travelling.
He is now expected to join the squad in Harare on 1 July.
That timeline leaves him doubtful for the first ODI of the three-match series, scheduled for 6 July at the Harare Sports Club, although he could return for the remaining matches on 9 and 11 July.
Litton sustained a left calf strain during the ODI series against Australia in Dhaka, an injury that ruled him out of the subsequent T20 International series in Chattogram.
Further medical assessments also confirmed that he was not fit enough to feature in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe, which began in Harare on Sunday.
