Morocco were left disappointed despite earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw against five-time world champions Brazil in a high-profile World Cup Group C encounter, with head coach Mohamed Ouahbi insisting his side had entered the match determined to secure all three points.

Speaking after the match, Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi said his team had entered the game aiming for victory and that the players were disappointed not to come away with all three points.

Morocco took the lead in the first half through Bilal El Khannouss Saibari in the Group C encounter in New Jersey. However, the African side could not hold on to its advantage for long, as Vinícius Júnior equalised for Brazil.

Both teams created several opportunities after the break, but neither could find a winning goal, and the match ended 1-1.

“We played well. Our objective was to win. But that's football,” Ouahbi said after the match. “We need to work on the areas where we fell short. We want to be better prepared for the match against Scotland. I have spoken with the players, and they are disappointed because they wanted to win.”

Despite the draw, Morocco achieved a notable milestone. By avoiding defeat against Brazil, the team extended its unbeaten run to 30 matches.

Among the teams participating in the World Cup, it is now jointly the longest active unbeaten streak, alongside Spain national football team, which has also gone 30 matches without a loss.
