Ton-up Hridoy, Mushfiq headline rain-hit matchday

Towhid Hridoy (101* off 66) and Mushfiqur Rahim (100 off 55) smashed scintillating centuries to power Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited to a massive 333/4 against Gazi Group Cricketers, before rain curtailed play across all Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League venues on Friday, raising the prospect of reserve days to determine results.

At Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan-Ground 3, Irfan Shukkur's rescue act of 119 guided Legends of Rupganj to 275 against Abahani Ltd, with Mustafizur Rahman taking 4/30.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz chipped in with 72, while Abahani reached 51/1 before the weather intervened.

Gulshan Cricket Club posted 201 against City Club — Sobuj contributing 90 and Saqlain claiming 5/37 — before Gulshan's bowlers reduced City Club to 42/7.

Elsewhere, Bashundhara Strikers reached 106/2 against Dhaka Leopards and Prime Bank managed 75/1 against Rupganj Tigers before showers ended the day's play, leaving all five fixtures subject to reserve day completion.

The day's only concluded result came off the field, as Agrani Bank Cricket Club were awarded a walkover victory over Brothers Union, after the latter were unable to fulfil their fixture due to an unresolved payment dispute.
