Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited received a timely boost in their Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League title push as Bangladesh pacers Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed joined the squad ahead of a crucial fixture against Legends of Rupganj at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Coach Mizanur Rahman Babul confirmed on Monday that both national team fast bowlers had linked up with the side as Mohammedan prepare for a key match that could have a significant bearing on the championship race.

"We've tried to strengthen the team as much as possible," Babul told reporters on Monday. "Not only Nahid, Taskin has also joined us. Tomorrow's (Tuesday) match is very important for us and the opposition are also playing with their full-strength team," he added.

The league leaders remain narrowly ahead in a tightly contested title race, with several teams still in contention. Mohammedan currently sit at the top of the table but Babul acknowledged that the margin is far from comfortable.

The addition of Nahid, one of Bangladesh's fastest bowlers, is expected to further strengthen an already star-studded Mohammedan side.

However, Babul said that the immediate focus is on the upcoming match rather than how long the pacer will remain available.

"Let Nahid play tomorrow's match first, then we'll see how many more games he can play. We understand that the national team players may be available until 5 June. Right now we are only thinking about tomorrow's game," he said.

Mohammedan, captained by Towhid Hridoy, have assembled one of the strongest squads in this year's competition, with several national stars already in their ranks. While adding more high-profile players can create selection headaches, Babul believes that the depth will ultimately benefit the team.

"A champion team needs a strong reserve bench. Everyone understands which combination is required for a particular match. The team comes first," he noted.

With four matches remaining and multiple teams still chasing the title, Babul admitted that every game now carries championship-level importance.

"We probably need to win all four matches if we want to become champions. We built this team with a goal in mind, but there are still many obstacles to overcome," he concluded.
