Babar cuts Mirpur training session short for MRI scan

Pakistan batting mainstay Babar Azam left Thursday's practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur early to undergo an MRI scan, raising fresh concerns over his fitness ahead of the two-match Test series.

Babar, who had been going through his paces with the rest of the Pakistan squad, departed the ground before the session concluded to have the scan carried out, sources within the Pakistan camp confirmed to Daily Sun.

Pakistan team officials had not made any official statement on the matter at the time of writing, and it remained unclear whether the scan results would have any bearing on his availability for the Mirpur Test.
