Mithun rallies players as Dhaka League crisis deepens

Mohammad Mithun has sought to calm growing anxiety among domestic cricketers, vowing relentless efforts to revive the suspended Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a vital financial lifeline for players.

Speaking in a video released by the Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), its president admitted the gravity of the situation. “We are all aware that the Dhaka League is currently suspended… this is one of our main sources of income,” Mithun said.

He stressed the hardship faced by players, adding, “Every player is going through a very difficult time as this league is closed.”

Mithun revealed that CWAB is actively engaging with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) to expedite a solution. “We are communicating with the BCB and CCDM on your behalf and we are trying our best so that the league can be brought back to the field as soon as possible. There is no lack of effort on our part.”

Calling for unity, he urged patience. “Keep your trust in CWAB… we are trying to repay your trust day by day.”

He signed off with optimism: “InshaAllah, the crisis… will be resolved soon.”
