Mushfiq en route to Bangladesh from Saudi Arabia

Amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, veteran Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim boarded a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight in the early hours of Monday, and is on his way back home from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after performing Hajj. He is expected to arrive in Dhaka Monday morning.

Mushfiq was stranded in Jeddah, having been forced to return midway through his journey to Bangladesh due to the current situation in the Gulf countries. 

The 38-year old had flown to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and was all set to come back home via Dubai but his flight returned to Jeddah owing to the Middle East crisis.

“Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Alhamdulillah, safely boarded to Biman. Inshallah will land tomorrow (Monday) morning in Dhaka. Thanks to those who has constantly contacted with me in the last 24 hours and sent lots of prayers. May Almighty Allah take all of us safely home,” Mushfiq wrote on social media.
