North Zone head coach Hannan Sarkar urged fans to attend the final match of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) One-Day Version on Thursday, scheduled for 28 February in Rajshahi.

Besides, the 43-year old coach expressed gratitude to the supporters for their attendance during the daylight hours of Ramadan, and thanked the security team for allowing fans to bring umbrellas into the stadium.

“Our last match will be on 28 February in Rajshahi. If you have the opportunity, please come to the stadium and watch the game. Your presence inspires us,” the coach wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

The former Bangladesh opener was thankful towards stadium security for accommodating his special request, which allowed fans to bring umbrellas during the intense heat of Ramadan.

“In the morning, when I went to the field, I first met the people responsible for security and requested them to allow everyone to enter the stadium with umbrellas. At that time, I didn’t even know whether my request would be accepted,” he said.

“Later, when I saw the scenes and photos from the field, I began to feel a different kind of happiness,” he added.

The former right-handed batter concluded by reminding supporters to take care of themselves while enjoying the match.
