Taskin Ahmed on Thursday dismissed talk of umpiring controversy after a tense do-or-die encounter, insisting there was "nothing major" despite a few animated appeals on the field, and praised Abu Haider Rony’s match-winning performance.

An incident while he was bowling to Mominul Haque drew attention when the umpire turned down an appeal, but the Central Zone pacer refused to be drawn into criticism.

“To be honest, it was a do-or-die match for both teams. Everyone wanted to win and was very serious,” Taskin said.

“There were no Decision Review System available. When you’re fielding, everything looks out to you. Ultimately, the umpires make the decisions, and they are human; small mistakes can happen sometimes.”

The right arm pacer added that, overall, the officiating was satisfactory.

“I don’t think there was anything major,” the speedster stated calmly.

Instead, the 30-year-old shifted focus to the dressing room celebrations, reserving special praise for match-winner Rony.

“It was a truly outstanding innings,” he said.

“At one stage, it became a ball-to-ball situation, and we needed a counterattack. The coach sent Rony in, and he played a brilliant knock to give us a fantastic win.”

“Overall, I’m very happy,” the pacer added, reflecting on a hard-fought victory.
