Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has admitted he was disappointed to miss out on the World Cup, saying the snub was difficult but he remained focused on his professional commitments overseas.
“I was there on a commitment. I focused only on that,” Rishad told reporters, referring to his time with the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. “I didn’t think about what was happening in Bangladesh because I was there to represent the team.”
When asked directly about missing the World Cup, Rishad responded with a question: “Aren’t you guys disappointed?”
“Yes,” the journalist replied.
“Same,” Rishad smiled.
The 23-year-old said he was taking franchise opportunities as they came and not getting carried away by speculation about future leagues, including the Pakistan Super League.
“I never expect anything in advance. If it is written in my fate, I will play. Otherwise, whatever Allah decides will happen,” he said.
