Bangladesh’s latest effort to relocate its T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka has failed after being rejected by the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

The move followed Bangladesh’s defeat in a vote at the ICC on 21 January, when a proposal to change venues was voted down by a 14–2 margin, effectively requiring the team to travel to India for next month’s tournament.

PTI reported that Bangladesh subsequently approached the DRC seeking to overturn the decision. However, the committee declined to intervene, citing clause 1.3 of its rules, which prevents it from acting as an appellate body against decisions taken by the ICC or any ICC-approved committee.

As a result, the DRC ruled that the issue fell outside its jurisdiction and rejected Bangladesh’s application.

PTI further said an announcement on which country will replace Bangladesh in the slot could be made on Saturday.
