The National Kabaddi Championship finals were held today at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium. In a thrilling conclusion, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) claimed the men’s title, while Bangladesh Police emerged victorious in the women’s category.

In the men’s final, BGB defeated the Bangladesh Army 33-28 in a tightly contested match. The Army led 12-9 at halftime, but BGB turned the game around in the second half. Star player Al Amin’s spectacular three-point raid leveled the score, and subsequent raids, including a ‘super raid,’ helped BGB secure the championship. Despite the Army’s last-minute efforts, BGB’s well-coordinated defense ensured their victory.

The women’s final saw Bangladesh Police beat Bangladesh Ansar & VDP 36-31. Police led 17-12 at halftime, but Ansar’s Smriti scored a brilliant super raid to equalize at 19-19. Police regained control, executed a second all-out, and maintained their lead to win by five points.

Individual honors were also announced. In the men’s category, BGB’s Al Amin was named Player of the Tournament, with Julfikar Akash as Best Emerging Player and Sabuj Mia as Best Defender. Rohan Mia of the Army was awarded Best Raider. In the women’s division, Police’s Shraboni Mallik was Player of the Tournament, with Antra (Rangpur) and Nahida (Brahmanbaria) as Best Emerging Players, BGB’s Brishti Biswas as Best Raider, and Smriti Akter of Ansar as Best Defender.

The award ceremony was presided over by Md. Salim Fakir, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with special guests, including Brigadier General Syed Md. Motaher Hussain, Vice-President of the Kabaddi Federation.
