India Under-19 outclass Pakistan by 90 runs

Pakistan’s bowlers produced a spirited display to restrict India, raising hopes of an opening win. But a poor batting effort shattered those dreams as Pakistan began their Under-19 Asia Cup campaign with defeat against arch-rivals India.

At the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Sunday, India Under-19 beat Pakistan Under-19 by 90 runs. After posting a modest 240 in 46.1 overs, India bowled Pakistan out for just 150. The win ended India’s run of three consecutive defeats against Pakistan at this level.

The match also reflected off-field tensions, with both captains declining to shake hands at the toss.

Kanishk Chouhan proved decisive with an all-round performance. Batting at No.7, he scored 46 off 46 balls before claiming 3 wickets for 33 runs to earn the Player of the Match award.

Aaron George for India top-scored with 85, while Pakistan’s Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan took three wickets each.

Only Huzaifa Ahsan (70), Usman Khan (16) and Farhan Yousaf (23) reached double figures in Pakistan’s chase.
