Soumya Sarker’s U-19 Asia Cup record remains unbeaten

India and Pakistan’s young sensations, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sameer Minhas, performed one of their career-best innings; Vaibhav scored 171 runs in 95 balls, while Sameer made 177 runs in 148 balls. Yet, they failed to break Bangladesh’s opener Soumya Sarker’s record of 209 runs in an innings at the U-19 Asia Cup.

In 2012, Soumya Sarker made a record of 209 runs in an innings at the U-19 Asia Cup 2012 against Qatar. The left-handed opener scored 209 runs in 135 balls, with 27 fours and 8 sixes. Bangladesh U-19 team set 363 for seven in 2012 and won the match by 328 runs. Abu Hider Rony also made a significant performance, picking up 9 wickets in 5.4 overs, conceding just 10 runs.
