Sri Lankan player Angelo Perera has been ruled out of the 12th season of the Bangladesh Premier League after sustaining a thumb fracture during a practice session, as confirmed by

Chattogram Royals through an official press release on Friday.

Chattogram Royals had spent US$20,000 to secure Perera for the season, expecting him to add valuable experience to their middle order.

Perera’s international T20 record includes 6 matches, scoring 59 runs and conceding 17 runs, taking no wickets. He previously featured in only one BPL season, turning out for the Sylhet Strikers in 2023/24, where he played a single match and scored 17 runs.

The franchise stated that a replacement for Angelo Perera will be announced later.
