Red Green Future Star began their campaign in the AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup with a 0-4 defeat against Brazilian side São Bernardo FC at the National Stadium on Friday.

The young Bangladeshi side, primarily composed of U-17 national team players along with a few expatriates, struggled to cope with the pace and technical ability of the visiting Brazilians. São Bernardo dominated throughout both halves, scoring two goals in each half to secure a comprehensive victory.

Despite giving their best effort, the Red Green Future Star players were overpowered by the Brazilian team’s speed, skill, and experience. Key players like Bitoshok Chakma started the match and tried to hold the line, but the gap in quality was evident.

The visiting Brazilian players celebrated each goal enthusiastically, running towards the stands and enjoying the experience of playing in Bangladesh. The match saw low spectator turnout, partly due to the high ticket high price.

Red Green Future Star will look to bounce back in their next match on 8 December against Argentina’s Club Atlético Colón, while the clash between São Bernardo and Club Atlético Colón on 11 December is expected to draw major attention with Brazilian World Cup winner Cafu and Argentine legend Claudio Caniggia in attendance.
