Rangpur Riders have officially secured the services of Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season. The franchise announced the signing on Wednesday through its social media platforms.

However, details regarding the duration of his No Objection Certificate (NOC) remain unclear amid ongoing uncertainty over the availability of Pakistani cricketers in the tournament.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has instructed all national players to keep themselves fully available for Pakistan’s upcoming bilateral commitments, deemed crucial for their preparations ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. While the PCB continues to grant conditional NOCs for overseas leagues, players are required to report for national duty whenever summoned.

Pakistan are scheduled to play a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Dambulla on 7, 9 and 11 January, followed by another three-match home T20I series against Australia in the final week of January. The team will then travel back to Sri Lanka for the World Cup, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India from 7 February to 8 March.

Faheem brings significant international experience, having represented Pakistan in 76 T20Is, scoring 535 runs at an average of 13.04 with a strike rate of 134.08. With the ball, he has taken 60 wickets at an average of 24.80 and an economy rate of 7.80.

In the BPL, the all-rounder has been highly impactful. Across 19 matches, he has picked up 30 wickets at an impressive average of 17.20 and an economy rate of 7.58, alongside scoring 170 runs at an average of 24.28 and a blistering strike rate of 186.81.
