Bangladesh T20 skipper Litton Kumar Das said on Tuesday that his price of Tk70 lakh in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction was beyond his control, adding that it was ultimately “God’s decision.”
Speaking to reporters in Chattogram after Bangladesh sealed a 2-1 victory in the three-match T20I series against Ireland at the Bir Shreshtha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Litton reflected on the auction held on Sunday.
Litton, listed in Category A, was picked by the Rangpur Riders for Tk70 lakh, while fellow left-handed opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh fetched the highest bid of the event, going to Chattogram Royals for Tk1.1 crore.
“I did not watch the auction properly because I was busy. Of course, if I get a chance again later, I will see,” Litton said. “But look, that is not under my control. I will try to control the things that are under my control. I believe in God. So, if He ever wishes to give me more money, He will bring it. He felt that 70 lakh is enough.”
The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League is scheduled to begin on 26 December.
