Ireland captain Paul Stirling won the toss and elected to bat in the deciding third T20 international against Bangladesh at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium on Tuesday.
Bangladesh made three changes to their line-up, bringing in Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain and Shamim Hossain. Nasum Ahmed, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib were left out.
Bangladesh skipper Litton Das said he would also have chosen to bat first on a dry surface.
“We wanted to bat first… The pitch is a little bit dry and we thought it would offer some good bounce,” Litton said at the toss. He added that Bangladesh must “keep enough wickets in hand after the Powerplay” to set up a competitive score.
The three-match series is tied 1-1.
