Aminul Islam Bulbul, president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), congratulated three players, Taijul Islam, Shuvagata Hom, and Marshall Ayub, for their major achievements in first-class cricket on Monday.

In a recent media release, the president of the BCB congratulated the players, highlighting that they have all built long careers through hard work and consistency.

“Their achievements reflect years of effort and determination. They have set strong examples for the younger players coming through our system, showing what can be accomplished with patience, discipline, and a genuine passion for cricket’s most prestigious format,” the first test centurion for Bangladesh stated.

Dhaka Division batter Marshall Ayub reached the remarkable 10,000 runs in first-class cricket on the opening day of the National Cricket League (NCL), against Barishal Division on 22 November. Debuting in 2005, the 36-year-old is now the fourth Bangladeshi first-class cricketer to cross this milestone, after Mominul Haque, Tushar Imran, and Naeem Islam.

On the same day, Mymensingh all-rounder Shuvagata Hom achieved a rare double of 6000 runs and 300 wickets in first-class cricket against Khulna Division. The 39-year-old is the second Bangladeshi first-class cricketer, after Shakib Al Hasan, to gain this height. He made his first-class debut 15 years ago.

Taijul Islam became the third Bangladeshi bowler to claim 500 first-class wickets, following Abdur Razzak and Enamul Haque Jr. The 33-year-old started his career with Rajshahi Division in 2011, recently became Bangladesh’s highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan, and is the first Bangladeshi to reach 250 Test wickets.
