Barishal clinch Women’s NCL title

Barishal Division secured the title in the 14th Women’s National Cricket League 2025-26 with a 13-run victory over Rangpur Division at BKSP Ground 3 on Monday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Barishal posted 138 for 3 in 20 overs. Openers Sumi Akter (47 off 45 balls) and Farzana Pinky (51 off 52) provided a strong foundation before Sadia Akter struck two late sixes to set a target of 139. For Rangpur, Dipa Khatun, Shorifa Khatun, and Lata Mondol took a wicket each. In reply, Rangpur lost both openers early and struggled to build partnerships. Nepa Akter top-scored with 31 off 35 balls, while Lucky Khatun added 32 off 18, but the team was restricted to 125. Barishal bowlers Happy, captain Rabeya, and Fatema claimed two wickets each.

At BKSP Ground 4, Khulna Division defeated Dhaka Division by 6 wickets. Dhaka, opting to bat first, managed only 65 for 8 in 20 overs. Afia Era delivered a standout spell, taking 2 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs. In reply, Khulna reached 66 for 4 in 13.1 overs. Misty Rani scored 32 off 38 balls, while captain Rumana Ahmed guided the chase.

At the same venue, Chattogram Division defeated Mymensingh Division by 5 wickets. Mymensingh, batting first, were restricted to 77 for 6 in 20 overs, with Halimatul Sadia scoring 26 off 40 and captain Shorna Akter making 22 off 21. For Chattogram, Mumta Hena took 3 wickets. Chattogram chased 78 with 10 balls to spare. Opener Jhelik scored 22 off 32 and Aka Mollik contributed 17 off 31. Shorna took 3 wickets for Mymensingh, but her side fell short.

In another match at BKSP, Rajshahi Division defeated Sylhet Division by 7 wickets. Sylhet elected to bat and posted 105 for 4 in 20 overs, led by opener Shamima’s 44 off 35. In reply, Rajshahi chased the target comfortably. Opener Sharmin Sultana scored 40 off 35, while captain Ritu Moni hit an unbeaten 66 off 55 balls. For Sylhet, Shanjida Maghla took 2 wickets.
