Mukidul claims fifer as Rangpur & Mymensingh seal wins in fourth-round

Rangpur Division secured a convincing 8-wicket victory over Barishal on Day 3 of the fourth round of the 27th National Cricket League 2025–26 at the Shahid Chandu Stadium (SCS), Bogura.

Resuming their second innings, Barishal were bowled out for 141 in 38.2 overs. Mukidul Islam Mugdho claimed 5 wickets to dismantle the innings. The collapse left Rangpur needing just 136 runs for victory. In response, Rangpur chased the target comfortably with 8 wickets to spare. Mim Mosaddeak led the charge with an impressive 80, putting on a strong opening stand with Jahid Javed. After their dismissals, Nobin Islam ensured there were no hiccups, scoring a composed 42 to guide Rangpur to a dominant win.

At the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram, Mymensingh secured a dominant 251-run victory over Chattogram. Resuming Day 3 at a strong position, Mymensingh added crucial runs before bowling out for 232 in 77 overs. Azizul Hakim Tamim played the standout innings, scoring 66. For Chattogram, Md Ashraful Hasan delivered an impressive spell, finishing with 6 wickets. However, Chattogram’s chase never took off. Confronted with a challenging target of 310 and disciplined bowling, they collapsed quickly and were bundled out for just 59 runs in 20.1 overs, falling far short of what was required.

Day 3 of the Rajshahi vs Dhaka clash at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium saw an eventful shift in momentum as Dhaka concluded their first innings on 382 all out. The highlight of the day was Taibur Rahman, who played a crucial knock but was unfortunate to miss out on a century, remaining unbeaten as the innings ended.

Rajshahi then began their second innings with positive intent, reaching 151 for 2 in 32 overs before stumps. Tanzid Hasan Tamim led the charge with a fluent 84, while Pritom Kumar supported him well with 40.

Meanwhile, at the Sylhet Academy Ground, Day 2 of the Khulna vs Sylhet match was dominated by Sylhet’s disciplined batting effort. Sylhet batted through the entire day, putting up 307 for 7 in 89.4 overs. Openers Zakir Hasan (78 off 125) and Mubin Ahmed Dishan (71 off 139) provided an excellent start, stitching together a crucial partnership. Despite regular wickets in the middle overs, Sylhet maintained control and ended the day with a 48-run lead, setting up an intriguing contest for the remaining days.
