Sunzamul Islam’s gritty century anchors Rajshahi on Day 1

The fourth round of the 27th National Cricket League (Four Day) 2025–26 began today, with Rajshahi taking on Dhaka at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium. Batting first, Rajshahi posted 275 for 9 in 72.4 overs before stumps were called on Day 1.

The innings was built around a brilliant knock from Sunzamul Islam, who scored a composed 112 off 181 balls, holding the lineup together after early setbacks. Rajshahi slipped to 24 for 2 and later 49 for 3, but Sunzamul’s patience and control steadied the innings. He found key support from Shabbir Rahaman Roman, who contributed an important 47 off 57 balls, helping push the total past 150.

Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals for Rajshahi, with the scoreboard reading 271 for 9 when Sunzamul eventually departed at 68.5 overs. Rajshahi ended the day at 275 for 9, with Wasi Siddiquee on 1 off 25 balls and Abdur Rahim on 3 off 9 balls, set to resume on Day 2.

For Dhaka, Ashraful Islam Siam was the standout performer with the ball, claiming 4 wickets, while Salauddin Sakil provided strong support by taking 3 wickets.
