The Bangladesh Hockey Federation has decided to send its entire 24-member preliminary squad to Germany for a month-long conditioning camp ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.
Departing from initial plans to trim the residential training squad at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium down to 20 players, the federation opted to take all 24 to bolster overall team depth and development.
Confirming the decision, Selection Committee Chairman Sajed A. A. Adel said: "We initially reduced the squad from 38 to 24 due to limitations. However, all 24 players will now travel to Germany for preparations, where we will pick the final 18."
Under German head coach Peter Gerhard, the national squad is currently focusing on European-style tactics, penalty corners, and rapid finishing.
