The newly appointed ad-hoc committee of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) will convene its crucial inaugural meeting on Monday at Falcon Hall in Tejgaon, marking the formal start of what officials hope will be a transformative era for the country’s hockey.

Chaired by BHF President and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, the high-stakes session at morning comes following a decisive intervention by the National Sports Council (NSC). On 18 July, the NSC dissolved the previous interim body after it failed to conduct elections during a 20-month administrative standstill, issuing the new panel a strict three-month mandate to complete the electoral process.

Despite the tight timeline, the new committee has already breathed fresh life into the sport. In a swift series of reforms, a German head coach has been recruited to guide the national team ahead of the Asian Games, alongside a foreign coach for youth development, whilst player welfare and training amenities have seen immediate upgrades.

Monday's agenda promises further momentum, with the committee set to approve the annual budget, structure crucial sub-committees, and finalise international tournament schedules. As stakeholders gather to endorse a dynamic roadmap for the future, this opening assembly represents a vital first step towards steering Bangladeshi hockey out of stagnation and back into the continental spotlight.
