Swapna Akhter, an indomitable woman from Bancharampur of Brahmanbaria, believes that the sewing machine will help translate her dream into reality.
“I have a family with my daughter Isha Moni, a fifth-grade student. There is no trace of my husband, who has been suffering from mental complications. Now I have a new direction in my life,” she said after receiving a sewing machine from Bashundhara Group recently.
Swapna said that the sewing machine will show her a new path to support her daughter with a good education.
“I bought an old sewing machine for Tk 2,200 and was using it for my work. I also rear goats. My family depends on the income I earn from sewing and goat rearing. However, a few months ago, my sewing machine broke down, and since then, I haven’t been able to work,” she said.
Hearing about Bashundhara Shuvosangho training, Swapna showed her interest and finally joined the training.
“I have received quality training through their initiative, and now I have got a sewing machine. I have many customers because of my previous experience,” she said. She believes that more people will be interested in her work now, because the new machine will help her to get a better outcome.
“I no longer worry about providing for my daughter’s educational expenses. I am now dreaming of a new life. Bashundhara Shuvosangho has extended their support and I pray for Bashundhara with all my heart,” she added.
