Physically challenged Abdul Awal sat quietly at the back of the auditorium during a recent Bashundhara Shuvosangho programme in Bancharampur, Brahmanbaria. Though non-beneficiaries were asked to wait outside, a special seat was arranged for him inside.
A resident of Ayubpur village, Awal lives with his wife and four daughters, all of whom are pursuing their education. With no steady income, the family relies on the support of relatives.
Bashundhara Group has played a vital role in easing their burden, providing educational scholarships for two of Awal’s daughters. Now, they have also trained his younger daughter, Ferdousi Akhtar, a class eight student, and gifted her a sewing machine to support the family’s future.
“Bashundhara Group has already been helping my daughters continue their studies. Today, they gave my younger daughter a sewing machine after training her. In today’s world, it is rare to see someone giving away such valuable items for free,” Awal said, expressing his satisfaction with Shuvosangho’s activities.
He also voiced hope that Bashundhara Group would continue such humanitarian efforts to empower underprivileged communities across the country.
