TikTok is expanding measures to identify AI-generated content, curb spam and improve transparency as artificial intelligence becomes more widespread on digital platforms.
The measures include enhanced detection systems for AI-generated spam, educational resources for users and participation in the steering committee of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), according to a press release.
The platform has launched an in-app AI Hub globally, including in Bangladesh, to help users recognise AI-generated material and understand its responsible use. The hub provides guidance on identifying such content and appears in search results for AI-related terms.
TikTok will test systems to detect accounts that repeatedly post AI-generated spam, particularly content that could affect public trust or well-being. The platform said it removed more than 86 million fake accounts in the first three months of 2026.
It has also labelled more than three billion videos as AI-generated through creator disclosure tools, invisible watermarking and Content Credentials, which provide information about the origin and history of digital content.
Through its involvement with C2PA, TikTok aims to support wider adoption of content provenance standards to improve transparency and help users assess the authenticity of digital material.
