The smart healthcare zone, featuring digitally and technologically advanced healthcare equipment, drew keen interest from international buyers at the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China.
A total of 47 leading Chinese companies showcased their technology at the 138th edition of the fair.
During a recent visit to the Canton Fair, this correspondent observed massive crowds at the Smart Healthcare exhibition zone.
A total of 140 exhibition booths were opened at the fair, in which leading Chinese companies showcased their technological success.
Visiting a smart healthcare exhibition booth inside the Canton Fair Complex, it was seen that a woman was demonstrating a robotic wheelchair which has the ability to move independently.
The wheelchair has the ability to use 360-degree automatic balance control technology; it can travel various landscapes, including stairs, slopes, and uneven surfaces like grass or sand.
Established in 2014, XSTO is the world's leading expert in all-terrain mobile robots and a provider of mobile intelligent devices with integrated production and sales. They were exhibiting the robotic wheelchair.
Like the robotic wheelchair, a number of cutting-edge technological achievements in medical robotics, intelligent diagnostics, wearable devices, smart massage therapy, and health monitoring devices have been displayed.
Another exhibitor, Zhejiang Fubao Intelligent Technology, was presenting an Intelligent Health Care Companion Robot designed specifically for elderly care. The robot integrates artificial intelligence with health-focused functionalities, offering real-time physiological tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, medication reminders, and emergency alert systems.
The robot has the facility of elderly care companion health monitoring, virtual doctor consultations, entertainment, wellness tips, and an online health store.
It also has a Stay Connected with Family function, which makes instant calls, medication reminders, weekly health reports, video/audio calls, and a mobile app for family members.
Shanghai Siyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. was showcasing the Syrebo hand rehabilitation robot (BCI) at the fair.
Syrebo Hand Rehabilitation Robot (BCI) SY-BR09 is an innovative rehabilitation training and evaluation system based on advanced principles of motor imagery and neural plasticity.
This system is designed to assist patients in regaining their motor functions, improving rehabilitation effectiveness, and providing comprehensive rehabilitation assessment data for medical institutions.
Using cutting-edge brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, the system enables patients to activate their motor intentions through motor imagery.
By implementing brain-controlled training, the system achieves a "perception-control" bidirectional closed-loop neural stimulation, promoting neural pathway reshaping and accelerating the rehabilitation process.
Patients can accurately control movements with real-time motion feedback and sensory feedback, enhancing proprioception and rehabilitation outcomes.
China's continuous development of smart medical technology has helped a number of companies to develop highly personalised and precise eldercare services, according to Huang.
