Govt website providing 440 services goes dark

The official website “mygov.bd” has stayed offline since Sunday night, owing to the recent security vulnerabilities found in the global PHP-based internet framework.

The website provides links and access to 440 government services.

One official at the Aspire to Innovate (a2i), which manages government websites, said, preferring anonymity, that “mygov.bd” is being upgraded with the latest PHP security patch.

Multiple domains nested under “mygov.bd” are also being upgraded, and the whole process also requires operational tests.

Multiple steps have to be crossed before the website can be relaunched, the a2i official said.

He hoped that the website would get back online by the end of Tuesday.
