TikTok removes over 1.6 crore videos from Bangladesh in 3 months

TikTok has deleted 1 crore 62 lakh 45 thousand 593 videos from Bangladesh in the second quarter of this year (April–June) for violating community guidelines, the platform said on Wednesday.
According to TikTok, 99.7% of the videos were removed proactively, with 97.5% taken down within 24 hours of upload.
The latest Community Guidelines Enforcement report showed that globally, 18 crore 95 lakh 78 thousand 228 videos were removed during the same period, accounting for just 0.7% of all content uploaded to the platform. Of these, 16 crore 39 lakh 62 thousand 241 videos were automatically detected and deleted, while 74 lakh 57 thousand 309 videos were restored after review.
Among the removed videos from Bangladesh, 30.6% violated content policies, 14% breached security rules, and 6.1% violated privacy and safety guidelines. Misleading content and AI-generated or edited videos were also deleted.
