Greetings and promises on our 15th anniversary

The Daily Sun proudly enters its 16th year today, an important milestone in a long and dedicated journey. Since its inception, the newspaper has been steadfast in its principles, firm in its ideals and aware of its responsibility. Ours was not a sudden emergence; it was the result of intensive preparation. After the arduous period of recruitment, training and a long ‘dummy period’, the daily officially began its journey on 24 October 2010. From the beginning, our motto – True and Impartial – has guided every aspect of our journalism. Rooted in the spirit of the Liberation War, democracy, secularism and human values, the Daily Sun has been an honest companion in every chapter of the nation’s progress. Highlighting the positive achievements of the country and writing against discrimination and darkness, this moral stance has brought the newspaper to its current status.

Today, the Daily Sun stands on a stronger foundation all the more. Amidst the competition in the news world, rapid changes in technology and the evolution of reader tastes, we have remained true to our ideals of honesty and professionalism. The trust of readers is our greatest achievement. From business, economy and politics to stories of dreams and struggles of the young generation, the Daily Sun has mostly provided impartial views and analytical reports everywhere. Our role in promoting business growth, encouraging investment, inspiring entrepreneurship and supporting policy reforms has been both significant and widely recognised.

At this crucial time, when the caretaker government is preparing for democratic elections, the newspaper has maintained its journalism with a cautious, responsible and country-orientated approach.
