Grameenphone has launched its new initiative, Grameenphone One, aiming to redefine the telecom landscape through bold innovation, customer-centric services, and digital empowerment.
The new platform was introduced at a programme held at Le Méridien Dhaka on Thursday, according to a press release. Maj Gen Emdad Ul Bari, chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), attended as chief guest, while Vice-Chairman Md Abu Bakar Siddique was also present. Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman delivered the welcome address.
More than just a connectivity service, Grameenphone One is positioned as a dynamic platform offering solutions tailored to the evolving needs of customers in an increasingly digital world.
The suite of services includes: GP Shield—digital gateway offering protection against online threats like malware, Bioscope Plus—Bangladesh’s first aggregator platform for OTT content, bringing together Chorki, Hoichoi, and nine other platforms, and One Games—gaming platform integrating over 5,000 online games.
Speaking at the event, Maj Gen Emdad Ul Bari said, “Digital safety is fundamental to shaping a smart and inclusive Bangladesh, and the introduction of GP Shield is a commendable move to ensure secure and responsible connectivity.”
Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman said, “Grameenphone believes in the boundless potential of Bangladesh’s youth—creators, gamers, freelancers, and dreamers who are already shaping the future through digital innovation. Grameenphone One is built for them—offering fast, secure, and empowering connectivity, with tools tailored to their ambitions, not the other way around.”
