Korean dramas hold an irresistible charm that continuously captivates global audiences. Let’s unveil the 10 most hyped Korean dramas set to dominate screens this May.

Spring of Youth: Centred on youth and music, this drama series flourishes with Kim Min-cheol as its writer and Kim Sung-Yong as the director.

Starring Lee Seung-hyub, Ha Yoo-joon, and Park Ji-hu in lead roles, the series boasts a supporting cast that includes Jo Han-chul, Seo Hye-won, and Cha Chung-hwa.

 The drama will be released on 6 May.

Tastefully Yours: Created by Han Jun-hee and with a screenplay by Jung Soo-yoon, this comedy series thrives under the direction of Park Dan-hee.

Go Min-si, Kang Ha-neul, Yoo Soo-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Hong Hwa-yeon portray the key characters.

This cooking comedy is scheduled to be released on 12 May.

Second Shot at Love: The romantic comedy will be released on 12 May. Diagnosed with alcohol dependency, Han Geum Ju seeks sobriety and reunites with Seo Ui Jun, her once-kind best friend, now cold and distant. His indifference drives her to uncover the reason behind his change.

With this plot, “Second Shot at Love” features Choi Soo Young, Gong Myung, Jo Yoon Hee, and Kang Hyung Suk in central roles.

Shark 2: The Storm: The crime thriller series is adapted from Shark, a webtoon brought to life with illustrations by Kim Woo Sub and written by Woon. Kim Geon takes on the directorial seat, and Min Ji serves as the screenwriter.

Led by Kim Min Seok and Lee Hyun Wook, the cast includes Lee Jung Hyun, Bae Myung Jin, and Park Jin. Wi Ha Joon, who was one of the lead characters in the first season, Shark: The Beginning (2021), will appear as a guest this time. The project will be released on 15 May.

Dear Hongrang: Based on Jang Da-hye’s Tangeum: Swallowing Gold, this thriller series is brought to fruition by the writer Kim Jin-ah and director Kim Hong-sun.

Lee Jae-wook and Jo Bo-ah assume the protagonist roles with a supporting cast including Jung Ga-ram, Uhm Ji-won, Park Byung-eun, and Kim Jae-wook.

“Dear Hongrang” is scheduled to stream on Netflix on 16 May.

Nine Puzzles: The mystery thriller will be released on 21 May 21. Screenwritten by Lee Eun-Mi, this mystery series highlights the direction of Yoon Jong-Bin.

Kim Da-Mi and Son Suk-Ku embody the key roles, with Hyun Bong Sik, Kwak Ja Hyung, Kim Do Geon, and Lee Joo Young rounding out the additional cast.

Our Unwritten Seoul: Penned by Lee Kang, this series revolves around twin sisters who share identical faces but opposite personalities. A single lie forces them to swap lives and live under each other’s names.

Directed by Park Shin-woo, the romantic series stars Park Bo-young, Ryu Kyung-soo, Park Jin-young, and Im Chul-soo.

The title is slated to premiere on Netflix on 24 May.

A Woman Who Swallowed the Sun: Screenplay by Seol Kyeong-eun, this drama series flourishes with Kim Jin-hyung as its director.

The talented ensemble headlines Jang Shin-young, Yoon Ah-jung, Seo Ha-joon, and Oh Chang-seok. The project will be released on 26 May.

Oh My Ghost Clients: The action fantasy will be released on 30 May. Also titled “Labour Attorney Noh Moo-jin,” this fantasy series stars Jung Kyung-ho in the title role, supported by Cha Hak-yeon and Seol In-ah.

Good Boy:  Scripted by Lee Dae-il, this action series excels with Shim Na-yeon as its director.

The stellar cast includes Kim So-hyun, Park Bo-gum, Oh Jung-se, Tae Won-seok, Heo Sung-tae, and Lee Sang-yi.

“Good Boy” is set to join Amazon Prime Video’s global catalogue on 31 May.
