Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, the workers' wing of the BNP, has announced a grand rally in the capital on 1 May to mark May Day.
The rally will be held in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan at 2pm, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan announced at a press briefing at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Tuesday.
He said BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will attend the rally virtually as the chief guest.
Earlier, a joint meeting was held with top leaders of various front and associate organisations of the BNP, in the presence of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, to outline the plans for the rally.
Nazrul Islam Khan added that, alongside the meetings, a May Day Celebration Committee has also been formed.
He said that separate May Day programmes will be held in all divisions, metropolitan areas, and districts, organised by local units of the Sramik Dal.
