Secretaries asked not to receive honorarium during working hours

Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources; Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges; and Ministry of Railways, has directed officials not to accept honorariums for participating in any meetings during official working hours.

In recent times, a letter containing this directive was sent to the secretaries of the ministries and divisions under his supervision, asking them to avoid accepting any honorarium for attending meetings during office hours.

The letter stated that the adviser to the interim government’s Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways has issued a directive: “No form of honorarium should be accepted for joining any meeting scheduled during the official working hours.” This directive has been sent to the senior secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division, the secretary of the Power Division, the secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the railway secretary, and the bridge secretary.
