Former Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their unwavering support and love, which helped him recover from a life-threatening situation.
Tamim suffered a cardiac arrest at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) in Savar on Monday during a Bashundhara Dhaka Premier League (BDPL) match between Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) and Shinepukur Cricket Club.
He received immediate emergency medical treatment and was transferred to the nearby KPJ Specialized Hospital, where he underwent a successful angioplasty to clear a blockage in one of his heart arteries.

Tamim was in stable condition and spoke to his family members in the evening. A day after the incident, he shared a heartfelt message with his well-wishers and fans.
“We live because of our heartbeat, but it can stop without warning—something we often forget. Before starting my activities yesterday, did I have any idea what was about to happen to me?
By the grace of Allah and the blessings of everyone, I have returned. I am fortunate to have had good people around me during this time of crisis. Their wisdom and tireless efforts helped me overcome this challenge,” Tamim wrote on his Facebook account.
“Some incidents make us realise reality and how small this life is. In this short life, whatever we can or cannot do, we should always stand by one another. That is my humble request,” he added.
“I am deeply grateful for everyone's love. Please keep me and my family in your prayers because, without your love, Tamim Iqbal is no one.”
Meanwhile, a number of cricketers and Tamim’s family members came to the hospital to meet Tamim on Tuesday. Among them, Shakib Al Hasan’s parents Khondoker Masroor Reza and Shirin Reza visited the veteran opener.
