The real estate fair organised by the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) concluded with sales and bookings of flats, plots, and commercial spaces worth around Tk84.77 crore in the port city.
In addition, realtors also secured further commitments worth Tk55 crore at the four-day fair, which ended on Sunday.
The REHAB leaders shared this information at a press conference held at the venue, Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, on the concluding day.
A total of 5,235 people visited the fair this year, they reported. The fair, which began on 13 February, featured 63 stalls, including 10 companies specialising in building materials and financial services. Last year, the event was not held due to the national elections.
On the final day, the fair experienced a significant increase in visitors, leading to a rise in sales and bookings compared to the previous days, the leaders said.
Representatives from several real estate companies noted that while thousands of visitors inquired about flats, plots, and commercial spaces, only a small percentage made immediate purchases or bookings.
However, they expressed optimism about future sales, as the fair helped establish connections with potential buyers.
Sanmar Land Development Limited General Manager, Liakat Hossain Chowdhury, anticipated good post-fair sales, citing strong visitor engagement.
On the other hand, Epic Properties Limited Senior Sales Executive, Shilpi Aktar Mim, highlighted challenges.
“Due to the Shab-e-Barat holiday, visitor turnout was low in the first two days, but the event gained momentum on the final day,” she said.
