Bangladesh Women’s A team lost the fourth T20 against Sri Lanka Women’s A by 19 runs at Thurstan College Ground in Colombo on Tuesday. The visitors have already clinched the series after winning the first three T20s and lead the five-match series 3-1.
They failed to chase 125 set by the hosts as Nahida Akter led the team in absence of skipper Rabeya Khan. Leg spinner Fahima Khatun and pacer Marufa Akter picked up two wickets each as the hosts put up 124/5 in their 20 overs.

Sri Lanka lost a few early wickets but their captain Sathya Sandeepani along with Piumi Wathsala and Malsha Shehani fought back to post a decent total on the board. Sathya was the top scorer with an unbeaten 46 to her name smashing one maximum and three boundaries. Piumi scored 29 and Malsha remained unbeaten on 21.
Bangladesh lost early wickets in the chase but Shamima Sultana kept the fight going with her 38. Taj Nehar and Shorna Akter respectively scored 15 and 28 to take the game close but there were no real contributions from the lower order and the visitors were eventually bundled out for 105 in 19.3 overs.
Sri Lanka’s four bowlers - Chethana Vimukthi, Nimesha Madushani, Tharuka Shehani and Dewmi Vihanga - picked up two wickets each.
The fifth and final T20 will take place at Colombo tomorrow.
