A Dhaka court on Thursday sent Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President Hasanul Haq Inu, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, and former State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak to jail on expiry of their remand period.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman passed the order upon a petition filed by police to show the trio arrested in their presence in a case filed over the killing of a grocery shop owner Mizanur in firing at Khilgaon in the capital on 19 July during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Inu was produced before the court after the end of 16 days of remand in three phases, Menon after 11 days of remand in two phases, and Palak after 23 days of remand in three phases.
