Pakistan interested in Bangladesh’s jute, jute products

Pakistan’s high commissioner to Bangladesh has expressed their keen interest in Bangladesh’s jute and jute products as there is a huge demand for jute and jute products in Pakistan.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof expressed this interest during a courtesy meeting with the Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar on Wednesday at the secretariat.
Welcoming the high commissioner, Farida Akhtar said the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is carrying out various activities in various sectors as part of ongoing reforms.
The Pakistan high commissioner also expressed interest in getting cooperation from Bangladesh, especially in research and extension projects in the fisheries sector.
They agreed to cooperate with each other in the production of safe fish, meat and agricultural products in two decades, according to a press release of the ministry.
During the meeting, the financial cooperation of the two countries was discussed. The two countries agreed to identify areas of cooperation, particularly in the fisheries and livestock sectors.
Bangladesh can collect seeds and varieties of meat-producing cows and buffaloes from Pakistan, said the high commissioner.
