BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Saturday called upon all Bengalis and hill people to work together.
“There is no place for terrorists and illegal occupiers in BNP. If BNP comes to power in the future, people will be happy,” he said.
The senior BNP leader was speaking at a relief distribution programme organised by Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at Dighinala Chhato Merung High School ground.
Referring to the BNP’s future politics, he said the party’s future politics centres around building a “new Bangladesh” in line with the dream of the country’s national hero Tarique Rahman and to fulfill the expectations of the new generation as well.
Swechchhasebak Dal President SM Jilani presided over the event.
Among others, BNP’s Khagrachhari district unit President Wadud Bhuiyan and Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Rajib Ahsan also spoke.
Later, relief items were distributed among 500 flood-affected families in different areas of the upazila.
On his way back, the BNP leader visited the house of Rabiul Islam, union committee president of the party, who was killed by Awami League activists in Dighinala earlier.
