The industrial areas in Ashulia, Savar, and Gazipur returned to relative normalcy on Saturday as most factories resumed operations with workers returning to their jobs.
The unrest that had gripped these zones appeared to ease though pockets of worker protests continued in some areas.
Factories in Narsinghpur, Nishchintapur, Jamgora DEPZ, and Palashbari in Ashulia and Savar saw their workers gradually return to work. However, a few factories remained disrupted as workers demanded higher attendance bonuses, increased meal allowances and a halt to terminations.

In response to continued protests, the authorities of 17 factories in Ashulia and Savar declared their factories closed for the day. Security was tightened in areas where demonstrations had occurred previously, with law enforcement and military personnel patrolling the streets.

No major incidents were reported, and army and police units were visible in front of Pear Garments at Palashbari in Ashulia. Police patrols were also active along the Baipail-Abdullahpur road in Narsinghpur. Industrial Police-1 said that while many workers had returned to their respective factories, some protests persisted.
According to Industrial Police-1 Superintendent of Police Sarwar Alam,   factories were calm in the early morning, but a few were forced to close after workers refused to resume work. Three individuals were detained for questioning in connection with the unrest.

In Gazipur, security measures were similarly heightened. Workers resumed work at factories across the district in groups. Industrial police presence and army patrols helped maintain order in the area. However, many factories in Gazipur declared holidays due to ongoing worker protests.
Despite the unrest, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association assured factory owners of sufficient security from the government, leading them to keep factories open. Factory owners have urged law enforcement to take firm action against outsiders they allege are responsible for inciting violence and chaos.
