Action to be taken against social media if they don’t cooperate with govt

The government will take action against the social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, if they do not cooperate with Bangladesh to prevent rumours and propaganda.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak came up with this information while addressing a dialogue of Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the media centre of Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.  
Noting that attempts are going on to create chaos by spreading rumors in the country, Palak said, "We would request everyone to remain alert in this regard.”
“Besides, I will request the authorities of Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok so that they are respectful towards Bangladesh laws. Considering religious sentiment and state security, they will not indulge in any rumours in order to ensure the safety of our students and citizens,” he said.
