Square Hospitals fined Tk50,000

A mobile court of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Thursday imposed a fine of Tk50,000 after finding Aedes larvae in an under-construction building of Square Hospital in the capital's Panthapath area.
The court, led by Executive Magistrate ATM Morshed, has fined engineer Anwar Hossain as mosquito larvae were found in the basement of the 4th floor of the building under construction for the hospital, a DSCC press release said.
The under-construction building of Square Hospital is reportedly being constructed by Union Development and Technologies Limited. Apart from the building, the executive magistrate of Zone-1 conducted raids at 44 more houses and establishments.
The DSCC on Thursday conducted mobile courts and imposed a fine of Tk1.71 lakh on owners and developers of establishments, including Square Hospital, for breeding Aedes mosquito larvae, according to the press release.
